Welcome to the latest platform update from Matmatch. We’re excited to share news on a number of useful new features we introduced in July.
- Export material data
- New and improved save materials function
- UI updates (search result table)
Export material data
Materials engineers love data – and especially material data. Research showed this before we launched Matmatch (and of course, that’s why we developed the platform), and we continue to hear how important it is.
But we’ve consistently heard from you – our users – that you sometimes want to be able to use Matmatch material data offline. And we take your feedback seriously.
So we’re pleased to introduce a new feature that lets you export material data to Excel and PDF. From any material page, logged in users can download the material data to XLSX and PDF file in just one click. You can send an email to email@example.com if you have any specific requests or suggestions.
Remember – you have to be logged in to use this feature, so if you haven’t created a Matmatch account yet, do it now.
Save materials (improved)
Once you’ve found the perfect material, you don’t want to forget about it. Or perhaps you want to build a list of all the materials you’re interested in to refer back to later.
Whatever your use case, saving materials is now a much easier process. You can do it from both the search results page and the material detail page, and your materials will be stored in a handy list that you can refer back to as you continue browsing the site.
Even better, if you’re signed in your list will be stored so it’s there for you when you come back to the site. So once again we urge you to sign up for an account to make the most of this feature.
User interface (UI) updates
In July we made a number of UI improvements that help to make the material selection process even easier – you may have noticed some of these changes already if you’ve been on the site recently.
The clean and user-friendly UI is a key part of our platform – and indeed our mission to help people discover, evaluate and source the materials for their projects. For this reason, we’ll never stop trying to find ways we can improve it further. Taken in isolation, each small UI update may not seem like much – but over time, such changes add up and deliver a much-improved experience for our users.
In addition to the new save materials feature we’ve already covered, we introduced an updated look for the compare materials functionality, along with an improved search results table. Plus, we improved the experience on mobile and tablet devices so it’s now easier to perform complex searches with multiple filters.
