The composites industry is in good shape – consumption in a wide range of industries, above all in aerospace, is ever-expanding, and this trend shows no signs of declining. France’s romantic capital Paris is counting down the days until JEC World 2018 kicks off on 6th March.
The JEC Group, a subsidiary of the not-for-profit Center for Promotion of Composites, will host a vibrant showcase of raw materials, intermediate and final processors, machinery exhibits and trends. The venue of choice is the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, just a few kilometres north-east of the city centre.
The Guest List
The 1,300 exhibitors showcasing their products and services on-site include service providers, machinery manufacturers, raw materials producers, product processors and distributors. Typically, over 70% of exhibitors represent the European composites market, and 32% of exhibitors deal with tools, equipment and products.
Based on last year’s success, the JEC Group has projected an impressive number of visitors for 2018 – around 40,000 professionals and decision makers representing more than 100 countries. Visitors include CEOs, engineers, technicians and heads of departments from the European, North and South American, African, Asia-Pacific and Middle Eastern markets. By far, the largest turnout usually comes from the aerospace industry, with approximately 33% of visitors active in aeronautics.
Visitors working in the automotive and road transportation industry should make up close to 30% of attendees. Regardless of industry, country or role, attendees who are interested in or active within the composite and advanced materials industry have ample opportunity for discovery, discussion, collaboration, inspiration and networking at JEC World 2018. Matmatch team will be attending the conference to follow industry trends, discuss material science developments and collaborate with composite material suppliers.
The Conference Program
Attendees can expect three days of presentations held by around 30 industry experts. The first day of conference events is focused on concrete and composites and the production scale of composite materials in the automotive industry. Key topics on the second day of the conference include renewable energies and aeronautics. The final day’s program deals with composite materials in ground transportation and the outcomes of the bio-composites deal.
In addition to presentations, JEC World 2018 also hosts a startup booster program to support innovation in the composites world and to connect new faces with seasoned industry executives, an award ceremony dedicated to advances in research and development, and a leadership circle dedicated to executives.
The Innovation Planets concept began in 2016 and proved immensely popular with visitors. The idea was to make end users more aware of the benefits of composite material usage in a young and complex industry. The planets have now developed into a hub where suppliers and OEMs gather to inspect the trends and innovations in the composites industry each year. Four presentation areas dedicated to specific industries, namely automotive, aerospace, construction and design. The planets give end users a groundbreaking overview of best practices, innovations and application success within the composites industry.
Matmatch is excited to visit JEC World and meet the international community of composites leaders and executives, connect with peers and future partners.
