Description

2.1504 (CuNi14Al3) is an extra high strength copper nickel alloy developed by Columbia Metals that maximises both strength and corrosion resistance. Sometimes referred to as a nickel bronze, NIBRON® contains additions of aluminium, iron and manganese that join with the copper and nickel to achieve its exceptional properties. Although suited primarily to the tough extremes of marine or offshore oil and gas environments, Nibron® has also established itself for critical components in many other industrial sectors including aerospace, electrical, chemical and automotive. It shows the following features and properties:

  • Very high mechanical properties
  • Excellent wear and galling resistance
  • High ductility
  • Outstanding resistance to marine corrosion and erosion
  • Retention of properties at cryogenic temperatures
  • Exceptionally low magnetic permeability
  • Good machinability and dimensional stability
  • Good thermal conductivity
  • Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by Matmatch.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
