Description

Acidur 4571 is comparable to Acidur 4404 in terms of corrosion resistance and mechanical and technological values, while Acidur 4057 is the material of choice if high strength at high temperatures is required. Due to the low carbon content, Acidur 4571 can also be used without heat treatment after welding.

This material data has been provided by Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Specialty Steel (DEW).

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.

Corrosion properties

Acidur 4571 shows good corrosion resistance in most natural waters with low to medium concentrations of chlorides, salt and hydrochloric acid as well as organic acids. Since Acidur 4571 is resistant to intergranular corrosion even after welding, it meets the following standardized test methods: AFNOR NF 05-159, ASTM A262 Practice E and DIN EN ISO 3651 Part 2. (PREN = 23.1 – 26.7)

General machinability

The addition of titanium leads to the formation of titanium carbonitrides, which increases the tool wear

Heat Treatment

Solution annealing: 1020-1120°C (water, air) fast cooling

Hot forming

It is formable at 900-1200°C

Welding

Acidur 4571 can be welded with and without filler material using all conventional methods. If a filler metal is necessary, use 1.4430. No heat treatment is required after welding. The interpass temperature should not exceed 200°C. Approach colours must be mechanically or chemically be removed.
