Description

A strong material with good sag resistance. This alloy is suited for controlled atmosphere brazing.

The FA68XX alloy family is a reliable and thoroughly evaluated fin alloy family that is characterised by a high post braze strength, and a good sagging resistance during brazing. The alloy is designed to form large grains during brazing, which is beneficial for the sagging behaviour and hinders braze metal penetration into the core. The high manganese and silicon content contribute to a higher strength after brazing. The corrosion resistance of the fin alloys is good, with a low self corrosion rate. FA68xx is available in four different zinc levels to allow for a tailored cathodic protection of tubes and fillets.

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by Gränges.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
