MetcoClad™ nickel-based superalloy powders are gas-atomized products specifically designed for laser cladding applications. As welded, they produce surfaces that are resistant to a wide range of corrosive media and guard against crevice corrosion and pitting, as well as other generalized and localized corrosion.

Gas atomization ensures that the powder particles are chemically homogeneous, yielding excellent results during processing. When used for laser cladding, dilution rates are low and surfaces are nearly 100% dense.

Handling recommendations

Store in the original container in a dry location; Tumble contents prior to use to prevent segregation; Open containers should be stored in a drying oven to prevent moisture pickup.

Excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments including hot contaminated mineral acids, organic and inorganic chloride-contaminated media, chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, seawater and brine solutions. Especially resistant to general and localized corrosion, including crevice corrosion, pitting and stress corrosion cracking. Excellent laser cladding properties that provides a buffer layer for dual coatings for sour gas environments. Resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone of the weld, making it a candidate for most chemical and petrochemical processing applications in the as-welded condition. Well-suited for components fabricated by welding, using methods similar to hose utilized for nickel-based alloys.
