Description

E-AlMgSi is ensured by the German electrotechnical commission as electrical conductive material according to DIN 40 501 part of 1 to part of 4. This cold and warm formable material reaches mechanical strength from 200 to 250 MPa with A5-elongations at break of approx. 10 %. In warm and cold hardened state this alloy is only limited formable, in the soft material condition however well. Weldability, corrosion resistance and anodising ability of this material are good. The alloy E-AlMgSi is ensured by a purposeful heat treatment apart from the strength increase an appropriate high electrical conductivity, so that it is applicable for statically loaded elements in electro-technology. heat treatment for hardening: solution annealing: 525 to 540 °C, quenching in water cold ageing: 5 to 8 d on ambient temperature warm ageing: 4 to 16 h at 155 to 190 °C Application: Electro-technology (overhead line)

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
