October is a busy month, especially for those who are in the metals industry. One event that cannot be missed is ALUMINIUM 2018, taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany. Matmatch is excited to take part in the trade fair and conference and looking forward to meeting aluminium producers and manufacturers.
About the event
ALUMINIUM 2018 in Düsseldorf is the world’s most significant trade fair and B2B platform for the aluminium industry and its main application areas. This three-day event takes place every two years and becomes an international hub for aluminium manufacturers, processors, distributors, suppliers and end-consumers across the entire value chain.
A total of 1,000 exhibitors and 27,500 visitors from 100 countries are expected to attend this year. ALUMINIUM 2018 will showcase the industry’s complete range – from the automotive sector, aerospace, surface treatment, building to recycling.
Matmatch at ALUMINIUM 2018
Matmatch will exhibit at the trade show (booth 10C13) to gain exposure to new trends, stimulate new ideas, meet our existing suppliers like Norsk Hydro and Alcoa and discuss opportunities with potential partners.
“We’re really looking forward to exhibiting at ALUMINIUM 2018. We already have strong aluminium data on the platform and the event will give us a chance to share our compelling vision with many aluminium suppliers and buyers from around the world,” says Ben Smye, Head of Growth at Matmatch.
“We’re particularly excited about showing suppliers how Matmatch can help them reach more customers online, get in front of customers earlier in their journey, and take advantage of new opportunities.”
Digitalisation of the materials industry
The aluminium industry is actively getting ready for digitalisation and the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies. There is a growing need for suitable engineering and machine software, as well as data management systems.
It is clear that digitalization will be a source of transformational change, but there are a number of challenges that need to be overcome. For example, risks around data privacy and security, challenges related to changing customer expectations, outdated regulation and skill shortages.
To address these challenges, ALUMINIUM 2018 introduced the new “Digital Manufacturing” special exhibition area to showcase the emerging IT solutions. Speakers from academia, industry leaders and technology providers will hold presentations to explain key concepts behind the digital transformation of aluminium manufacturing and the metals industry.
Here are some of the highlights from the trade show programme:
- “From Automating Knowledge to Doing the Impossible: Five Top Use Cases for Aluminium Industry to go Digital” by Mr. Stefan Koch from SAP SE.
- “Time is money… Get ready for Digital Manufacturing with Additive Manufacturing” by Mr. Fabian Krauß from EOS.
- “Automation with AI – How to get it going” by Mr. Ralf Kölle from SCITIS.IO GMBH.
Matmatch is exhibiting in the Digital Manufacturing Pavilion. Visit us at Booth 10C13.
