The last two months have seen Matmatch attend materials conferences in Las Vegas, Stuttgart, Milan, Moscow, and Friedrichshafen…but now for something closer to home. On November 28th, Dr. Simona Maccarrone, Materials Scientist and our in-house polymers expert, will visit the biggest gathering of the thermoplastic and silicone elastomers industry right here in Munich, Germany.
The TPE & Silicone Elastomers World Summit 2017 brings together manufacturers, designers, researchers and end users for a summit-styled technical discussion of silicone elastomer materials, market trends, processing advancements and emerging applications.
The global market for silicone elastomers is expected to increase at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 6.1% through to 2021, while consumption of thermoplastic elastomers is expected to see a CAGR of 5.3% through to 2020. Therefore, we believe the industry holds huge potential for Matmatch demand and supply partners.
The event lasts for two days and will provide delegates with learning opportunities and insightful advice through a packed conference program. This year’s program includes in-depth lectures, workshops and networking activities that promise to bring together industry leaders under one roof.
Simona is especially interested in the new markets, challenging opportunities, advances in research and improved performance of these materials. She said, “I’m looking forward to learning more about how these special kinds of elastomers can be developed to improve their mechanical and thermal properties and so become relevant for new application fields.”
Simona will be taking part in the conference and gathering information for Matmatch as we continue to expand our materials database. We also aim to connect with the leading players in the thermoplastic and silicone elastomers industry and further spread the Matmatch message.
