The Dillinger Group is made up of a series of top-ranking companies which together provide maximum quality and best possible service in the field of heavy plate. This applies both to the work of our integrated iron-and-steel plant, to the production of coke and smelting of iron by Zentralkokerei Saar GmbH and ROGESA Roheisengesellschaft Saar mbH, two subsidiaries owned jointly with Saarstahl AG, and to the production of liquid steel and semi-fabricates. Heavy plate is produced at two locations, Dillinger Hütte, in Dillingen, and Dillinger France, in Dunkirk.
In addition, our trading, flame-cutting and semi-fabrication affiliates provide further downstream services and customised solutions for sales, plus semi-fabrication of heavy plates and other steel products. The 2014 business year also witnessed the inauguration of Steelwind Nordenham GmbH, a 100% Dillinger subsidiary, specialising in the production of monopiles for the offshore wind-energy market.
EUROPIPE GmbH, the world's leading producer of pipes for oil and natural gas pipelines, with locations in Germany and the USA, was founded in Mülheim an der Ruhr as a 50% subsidiary of Dillinger specifically for the production of pipes from pipe-making plates in 1991.
Dillinger plates and prefabrication services from stock
We at Dillinger concentrate on just one thing: heavy plate. And because, for generations, we have been seeking ever better solutions to meet our customers' continuously rising needs, we are today able to supply a uniquely broad range that covers more than 2,000 different grades of steel, extending from non-alloy structural steels, up to and including ultra-high-strength quenched and tempered fine-grained steels, and from weathering- to sour-gas-resistant grades.
We here are passionate in striving to set new standards.
This is why we also supply our heavy plate in out-of-the-ordinary formats and dimensions, in extreme thicknesses, with ultra-high item weights, for extremely low and extremely high temperatures, for the toughest loads and conditions and meeting the most demanding specifications. And if exactly the right Dillinger heavy-plate product really is not available yet, we'll develop it - in cooperation with you, of course.

Dillinger is also known as the "green steelworks". Visitors encounter some 500 hectares of woods and meadows in the immediate vicinity of the main plant at Dillingen. This succulent swathe of nature is part of the grounds of the manorial residence of the Baron de Lenoncourt, who founded the ironworks in 1685. It is, simultaneously, the visible expression of our respect for the environment: throughout the company, we are uncompromisingly committed to sustainable, environmentally safe resources management and production.
Innovative steel products and their use in wind-power installations and modern power-generating plants save six times more CO2 than is caused by their production.
Our material – steel – also makes a valuable contribution, like scarcely any other, to environmental and climate protection – from its environmentally safe production, via its long service in innumerable diverse applications, up to and including complete and infinitely repeatable recycling. We are constantly pursuing the development of innovative environmental-protection technologies via cooperation with universities, institutions of higher education, scientific institutes and partners from other branches of industry.

We at Dillinger always go one step further when our customers have particularly demanding requirements for their steel. Our aim, every time, is not only to fulfil their expectations, but to go beyond them. The results are products that set standards: Dillinger proprietary steels.
These top-rank products convince users with properties which, almost without exception, are actually better than the maximum requirements specified in the standards and typical in the industry – to give you the security of having selected the best steel that the latest state-of-the-art steel technology can produce. In addition, you virtually always benefit from significantly simpler and thus more efficient workability and weldability.
Most Dillinger proprietary steels can be recognised by the prefix "DI" in their name – as in the case of our DILLIDUR and DILLIMAX products, steels which have enjoyed global acclaim for decades. And names such as DIWETEN, DICREST, DIMO, DIFENDER and DIWA are also synonyms in their respective fields for outstanding solutions that put our customers in the lead.

Processing capabilities
A heavy plate product is only perfect if it also fits in optimally with your production processes and delivery schedules. According to your needs, Dillinger can perform the initial machining and fabrication operations. Ex mill we offer: Edge processing/ weld seam preparation, oxyfuel and plasma cutting/ cut-to-size plate for foundation plates, lamellas, press frames, flange rings, racks for wind farm installation vessels and jack-up rigsor, tube sheets for container construction Ex stock/Steel Service Centers we offer: 1. If you need your heavy-plate material in an ultra-short time, or only in small quantities, our steel stockists and flame-cutting affiliates have a large selection of grades and dimensions in stock for you. Please visit: https://www.dillinger.de/d/en/products/stock/ex-stock/ 2. Our steel stockists and flame-cutting affiliates offer also various one-stop services: e. g. machining, weld edge preparation, heat treatments as well as welding, certified according to EN 1090, also with robots and also for high strength steel. They offer cut pieces or components prefabricated to your need, also with extremely heavy weight, e.g. welded components with a piece weight up to 160 t.
