Description

The material NiMo23Cr8Fe with the material number 2.4710 is used in the form of strips, sheets, tubes, bars, wires and forgings for corrosion-resistant construction components. The material is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium-iron-solid solution alloy with outstanding corrosion-resistance in very acid mediums with a low content of oxidation agents. Apart from its resistance to general and intercrystalline corrosion, the resistance to crevice corrosion, which can occur under deposits and incrustations in construction-caused crevices of flue-gas wet-desulphurization plants, has to be especially pointed out. The material is marked by excellent resistance to condensed sulphuric acid, good durability in reducing mediums like hydrochloric acid, good hot and cold formability as well as good suitability for welding and an applicability at temperatures of - 196 °C to 450 °C. NiMo23Cr8Fe is applied in the chemical process industry as well as in the energy and environmental technology, e.g. heat displacement systems in flue-gas desulphurization plants, for flue-gas washing devices for the thermic refuse disposal, for plants for the recycling of waste-sulphuric acid (30 to 90 per cent in reducing conditions).
