Description

The material ZP3 with the material number ZP0400 is applied for pressure castings. If high demands are made on the dimensional accuracy of the pressure casting products, this alloy ought to be preferably used. The material possesses considerably higher ductility than the other alloys. In comparison to the material ZP5 (ZP0410), it shows strength properties that are a little worse as well as lower corrosion-resistance to intercrystalline corrosion. The tensile strength depends on the wall thickness. With the wall thickness of the casting becoming smaller, the strength increases. The casting temperature ought to be about 425 degrees C (450 degrees C maximum) the forming temperature (pressure casting) is to be adjusted to about 180 to 250 degrees C maximum. According to DIN EN 12844, the alternating stress fatigue strength (time strength) is 48 N/mm² with 10 million reversals of stress the creep life (0.5 per cent, 3000 h) is 80 N/mm². The temperature coefficient of the length is 27 µm/m*K.
