Description

Titanium is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, being stronger than iron and only half as dense. It is one of the best structural materials for the automotive, aerospace and marine industries thanks not only to its strength, but also to its corrosion resistance. It tarnishes at high temperature if exposed to air, but it can be polished to an attractive sheen that will last for years, even in marine and salt-water environments. Apart from these physical and chemical processes, it is also a very biocompatible material that is seldom rejected by body tissues, making it the material of choice for bone implants.
