Description

As part of the Thermoplstic elastomer (TPE) family, Santorene™ is a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) material, developed by ExxonMobil. It is a fully dynamically vulcanized ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber in a thermoplastic matrix of polypropylene (PP). It makes use of the properties of both rubber and PP, resulting in a high performance elastomer that shows a feel and behaviour similar to rubber, manufactured and processed as easily as plastics.
Santorene™ 101 is a soft versatile TPV that is black in colour. It exhibits good physical and chemical properties and can be processed by injection moulding, blow moulding, and extrusion. However, it is incompatible with PVC and acetal. It is shear-dependent, polyolefin-based, and recyclable. Santorene™ also has high ozone resistance and outstanding flex fatigue resistance. It is delivered as granular material. Its key features include:
