Welding | To weld Acidur 4542, the condition of the base material must be taken into account. The copper is present in the material in a stable form and therefore does not promote hot cracking. In addition to setting optimum welding conditions, care must be taken to avoid undercuts or other welding defects that lead to the formation of a notch. After welding, the material must be solution annealed again within a very short time with subsequent ageing to prevent stress cracking. |
