Description

The copper-nickel alloys show very good resistance to sea water and possesse good corrosion-resistance against non-oxidizing inorganic acids, especially against sulphuric, hydrofluoric and phosphorous acid, against most organic acids and especially against alkaline solutions. Furthermore, they are of excellent resistance to erosion and cavitation. The material G-NiCu30Si4 shows only low galling and fouling in running against other metallic materials. In comparison to the material G-NiCu30Si3(2.4367), the alloy G-NiCu30Si4 (2.4368) shows improved bearing and strength properties (higher Si-content!) The material is not weldable. G-NiCu30Si4 is applied in shipbuilding, in the chemical industry, in the oil, paper and food industry, for pickling plants, washing machines, as castings for pumps and pump components, fittings, valves and valve seats, nozzles, turbine blades, guide rails, sliding elements and bearings. The casting is well suitable for stress in terms of pressure-tightness.
