Description

The austenitic steel grade X5CrNi18-10 acc. to DIN EN 10272 : 2001-01is used for hot and cold formed rods for pressure vessel. The standard-type of the austenitic CrNi-steels shows high corrosion resistance but no resistance to intercrystalline corrosion (ic) in sensitized condition (resistance to ic available for cross sections up to 40 mm, if sensitization-treatment of 10 min. has been carried out at 650°C +/- 10°C with subsequent cooling in water). It is resistant in delivery condition for cross sections up to 40 mm. The steel is good processable and very good cold formable and it is suitable for mirror finishing.
