Description

The corrosion resistant rolled steel X 1 CrNi 25 21 (new designation: X1CrNi25-21), material number 1.4335 is applicable acc. to VdTÜV-material specification 468 : 2001for pressure vessels as per TRB 100 and AD-data sheets W 2 and W 10 from -196 to 400 °C. Application: in nuclear power engineering as far as nuclear rules resp. object-related specifications permit use from -196 to 400 °C. The material is owing to its low content of contaminative elements and its special melting process (VOD resp. AOD process with subsequent ESU process) particularly resistant to oxidizing acids. The weldability is given for the methods metal-arc welding and TIG welding. In terms of corrosion the filler material should be of the same or higher grade. Furthermore the filler have to be tested for the lowest working temperature. Its recommended to contact the purchaser. An heat-treating afte the welding isnt necessary. To the material acc. to DIN EN 10088-1 : 1995-08 applies: The steel is melted with restricted chemical analysis. It shows high corrosion resistance to oxidizing acids (esp. nitric acid). This material is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion also in sensitized condition. Application in urea synthesis, for components with nitric acid impact up to a concentration of 70 % and increased temperature, in fertilizer industry as well as for different chemical procedures.
