What is ASTM?
ASTM is the common designation for the ASTM International (formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials). ASTM International is an American based standard organisation that oversees the development and curation of technical standards. One of these technical standards is A1018.
What is A1018?
The ASTM A1018 (A1018M is the equivalent metric version of A1018) is technical specification for steel forms like heavy gauge Hot-Rolled Sheet and Strip Carbon (CS), Heavy-Thickness Coils, Hot-Rolled, Carbon, Commercial, Drawing, Structural(SS), High-Strength Low-Alloy (HSLAS), High-Strength Low-Alloy with Improved Formability (HSLAS-F), and Ultra-High Strength (UHSS). Addition material information for the grades covered in A1018 is document in ASTM A635. ASTM A1018 equivalent materials in other standards may be found by investigating the individual steel grades.
