Description

The material ZnAl8Cu1, a fine zinc block metal alloy acc. to ASTMB 669, german marking ZA 8, is the best alloy for casting with continuous form. It has the smallest strength, but best surface treatment characteristics opposite the marks ZnAl12Cu1 and ZnAl27Cu2. The alloy is outstanding pressure-tight, even in thin cross sections, excellently machinably and on high polish sharpening and polishingable. The alloy is used mainly for sand and ingot casting, in addition, for die casting on cold chamber machines. The alloy ZA 8 exhibits a clearly improved creep rupture behaviour in relation to the alloy Z 430 (G-ZnAl4Cu3).

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
