Description

The gold-silver-copper material AuAg24Cu6, also Au70Ag24Cu6, 70Au24Ag6Cu, has a sufficient wear behavior and a sufficient corrosion behavior. The gold alloy is used for connectors (recommended contact force> 100 cN), as potentiometer alloy (potentiometer wire), for switching contacts (mainly for plug and tapping contacts). It is ductile, corrosion-resistant, oxidation-resistant up to approx. 150°C, abrasion-resistant and hardenable. AuAg24Cu6 can not be machined, roll-plated, and can be separated from the gas phase to a limited extent. The alloy has increased resistance to material migration and is relatively hard and abrasion resistant.
