Description

The gold-silver material AuAg8, also Au92Ag8, 92Au8Ag or Au/Ag92/8, is used for switching contacts (switches and relays for currents up to 10 mA at voltages below 80 mV). It is ductile, corrosion-resistant and has a reduced tendency to cold welding compared to Au. AuAg8 is machinable, roll-cladable, electrodepositable, conditionally separable from the gas phase. It is the material with the lowest thermoelectric voltage.
