About CENTER OF MARITIME TECHNOLOGIES e.V. (CMT)

The CENTER OF MARITIME TECHNOLOGIES e.V. (CMT) is a non-profit association with the aim to strengthen research, development and innovation in the maritime sector through research and promotion of cooperation between the various maritime actors, industry and science and within the framework of the European research area. In order to bring lightweight constructions (e.g. fibre composites) onto board of seagoing ships, CMT conducts relevant design and method research in cooperation with other research institutions. The strategy includes material and structural concepts as well as aspects like safety, production, joining, repair. CMT is significantly involved in contract research through its own capacities in selected specialist areas (joining techniques, design, production integration in the maritime sector), strategy development for lightweight construction and creation of interfaces between members and other players in the maritime sector.
