SupremEX® 640XA is an aerospace grade metal matrix composite (MMC) based on an aluminum alloy (6061B) with a reinforcing phase of 40% silicon carbide.
640XA is produced powder metallurgically by mechanical mixing. This results in a fine grain structure, which improves the mechanical properties.
SupremEX composites are hardenable and offer high strength and a high modulus of elasticity, making them ideal for Structural components.
