Description

COLPHOS 90 (CuSn4Pb4Zn3) is a high grade leaded tin (phosphor) bronze, the composition and production of which is carefully controlled to provide a fine grained, single phase wrought alloy of outstanding quality, strength and machinability. The tensile properties and corrosion resistance of COLPHOS 90 are similar to PB102 phosphor bronze and are enhanced by good fatigue strength and thermal and electrical conductivity. These properties, combined with a free machinability rating some 90% that of CZ121 free-cutting brass, make it an ideal choice for intricate machining.COLPHOS 90 provides design and materials engineers, machinists and engravers with the ability to specify and take full advantage of an outstanding, cost-effective copper alloy with a remarkable combination of properties. It shows the following features and properties:

  • Exceptional machinability
  • Excellent wear resistance and bearing tolerance
  • Excellent engraving, enamelling, polishing and plating characteristics
  • Very good corrosion resistance
  • Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by Matmatch.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
