Description

The austenitic steel X2CrNiMo17-12-2, a modification of the steel 1.4401, is a steel of high resistance to unoxidizing acids and chloride-containing media. The material is mirror-polishable and well cold formable. Enhanced corrosion properties by lowered C-content compared to 1.4571. The material is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion also in sensitized condition. The steel is approved for pressure vessel construction up to 400 °C, otherwise subject to authorization. Application: in apparatus engineering of chemical industry as well as in cellulose, textile and pharmaceutical industry, in sewage plants and in the beverage industry
