Application areas | COUTMET AFM composition is designed for creation an external and internal anti-corrosion protective coating for steel fittings of steel main pipelines (bends, arms, adapters, etc.), tanks, reservoirs, bunkers, tanks for various purposes, including contacting with drinking water and food products. COUTMET AFM powder coating can be used on metal, non-metal and concrete substrates. The gas-flame application method is used mostly during COUTMET AFM application. It is also possible to apply by spray or sintering methods. | |
Processing methods | Coutmet AFM powder composition is applied by gas-flame or pneumatic spraying, as well as by sintering. In case of gas-flame application, it is strictly recommended to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the equipment operation and the coating application conditions. To achieve the optimum properties of the final coating, it is recommended that the coating should be thoroughly cooled immediately after application. The coating application method and the features of the equipment operation can affect the material properties, in this regard, it is recommended to conduct experimental coating with the subsequent testing of the obtained sample for compliance with the required quality items before starting production. When coating applicated directly on steel, preliminary surface preparation is necessary. Before application, the surface must be cleaned, dust-free and degreased. To achieve maximum quality of the final coating, it is necessary to ensure a surface preparation quality of at least SA 21⁄2 ccording to ISO 8501-01 or another equivalent standard. Sandblasting or shot blasting before application is recommended. |
