Description

Material EN AW-Al Mg2Mn0,8 is produced for sheet metal, strip and plates, for HF-welded tubes as well as for rolled billets. The material is food-safe. To the comparable mark AlMg2Mn0,8, material No. 3.0527 acc. to DIN 1725-1 : 1983-02 applies: The alloy AlMg2Mn0,8 is similar to alloy AlMg3. Mn-addition (above 0,6 %) causes an increase of high-temperature strength (up to approx. 150°C) and recrystallization barrier. As a result of this considerably increases strength of extrusion products in longitudinal direction. The material has a high resistance to corrosion, seawater and salted atmospere. Strength increases and cold workability decreases according to the Mg-content. It is naturally hard, i.e. a strength increase can only be achieved by cold forming, not by controlled heat treatment. Machinability and weldability are enhanced by increasing Mg-content. Application: In apparatus engineering for pressure tanks, for pressure gas tanks (pipelines), for low-temperature tanks and for temperatures up to 250°C. In car manufacturing for coachbuilding, in shipbuilding for hull and superstructure. In construction trade for roofing, facade lining, for load-carrying constructions and sun protection facilities as well as for furniture (incl. camping furniture).
