Description

Material EN AW-Al Mg4,5Mn0,7, material No. EN AW-5083, also in VdTÜV-Wbl. 255 : 2001-06 is produced for sheet metals, strip and plates, for HF-welded tubes, for extruded and drawn components as well as for forged parts and prematerial. The material is food-safe. To the comparable mark AlMg4,5Mn, material No. 3.3547 acc. to DIN 1725-1 : 1983-02 applies: The alloy AlMg4,5Mn pertains to naturally hard aluminium-forgeable material. A strength increase can only be achieved by cold forming, not by controlled heat treatment. It has a high resistance to corrosion, seawater and salted atmosphere. Increasing Mg- and Mn-content complicate extrusion but strength and low-temperature behaviour enhance. It is the in technics longest established material of this type. It is preferred used for sheet metal constructions of low-temperature load. The alloy is ideal for welding. Even in its weld seams it shows strength of AlMg5 and beyond. Application: Acc. to VdTÜV-Wbl. 255 : 2001-06 for sheet metal, forged parts, ring, tube and simple extrusion sections for pressure tanks from -165 to 65°C, besides for shutters and roll-up gates (sheet metal sections), in apparatus engineering for reservoir bottoms, low-temperature tanks, heat exchanger, air-decomposer and pipelines. In vehicle manufacturing for superstructures , bulk and tank transporter, motor busses, shock absorber, for body- and safety parts. In shipbuilding for hulls resp. superstructure, radar systems.
