Description

Material EN AW-Al Mg3Mn is produced for sheet metals, strip and plates, for HF-welded tubes, for extruded and drawn components. The material is food-safe and is used for forged parts and prematerial. To the comparable mark AlMg2,7Mn, material No. 3.3537 acc. to DIN 1725-1 : 1983-02 applies: At AlMg2,7 occurs a press effect to extrusion products that causes considerable strength increase in pressure direction. This is a result of Mn-addition as well as icrease of high-temperature strength. AlMg2,7Mn is due to its relativly favorable strength qualities usable or staticly loaded constructions The alloy has a high resistance to corrosion, seawater and salted atmosphere. Strength increases and cold workability decreases according to the Mg-content. It is naturally hard, i.e. a strength increase can only be achieved by cold forming, not by controlled heat treatment. Machinability and weldability are enhanced by increasing Mg-content. Application: in apparatus engineering for pressure tanks (cold carboretor, air breakdown), for low-temperatur tanks resp. for temperatures up to 250°C. In vehicle manufacturing for bulk and tank transporter, motor busses, coolings and air-conditioning systems, in construction trade for carrying constuctions and for heat insulation as well as in food industry for commercial devices.
