Description

Material EN AW-Al Mg3Mn is produced for sheet metals, strip and plates, for HF-welded tubes, for wire and prewire for mechanical and welding applications, for extruded and drawn components as well as for forged parts and prematerial. The material is food-safe and it is used as prematerial for heat exchanger (Finstock). To the comparable mark AlMg3, material No. 3.3535 acc. to DIN 1725-1 : 1983-02 applies: The alloy has a high resistance to corrosion, seawater and salted atmosphere. Strength increases and cold workability decreases according to the Mg-content. It is naturally hard, i.e. a strength increase can only be achieved by cold forming, not by controlled heat treatment. It is well brighten- and anodizable. Machinability and weldability are enhanced by increasing Mg-content. Alloy AlMg3 is used for staticly loaded constructions. It is the in technics most customary material of this alloy-type. For decorative anodizing has to be assumed an anodizing quality (ALMg3EQ). Application: in apparatus engineering for pressure and gas tanks, for low-temperatur tanks, for heat exchanger. In construction trade for facade lining, roofing, windows, doors and window walls, fittings and carrying constructions. In vehicle manufacturing for commercial-vehicle superstructures (sheet metal), bulk and tank transporter as well as for body parts. For membrane disks of brake boosters, in aircraft construction, in mold making predominantly for tools and appliances as anchor, head and plunger plates as well as for guide plates. For metal goods ( incl. harness) and metal signs, in food industry (incl. commercial devices), in rail vehicle manufacturing for features, in machine engineering for machine bodies and housings. In shipbuilding for hulls resp. superstructure, for features and equipments. For transport containers (large bottles up to 10 litre, fluid-container up to 1 m³ in galvanized steel rack). For packaging (cans, caps, valve disks for aerosol cans and bottle caps), for furniture (incl. camping furniture) and for connecting elements (solid rivets, blind rivets, clinch nuts) as well as for flexible tubes.
