Description

Material EN AW-Al 99,5 is produced in large quantities for sheets, strips, plates, scraps, foils, for presswork components, rolled and pressed bars, for prematerial for heat exchanger as well as for wire and prewire for mechanical and welding application. It is used in limited quantities for prematerial for cans, caps and fasteners as well as for forged parts and prematerial. It is food-safe. The material is comparable to trademark Al 99,5, material number 3.0255, acc. to DIN 1712-3 : 1976-12. It is well anodizable and shows favorable electrical and thermal conductivity. Smearing may occur on machining. Low mechanical strength, high strain. Formability as well as chemical and weathering resistance are excellent. This material is well suitable for welding and hard soldering. Application: apparatus engineering, roll bond, Z-bond, household appliances, storage and transport equipment for chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry, roofings, facings, arts-and-crafts, packagings, extruded parts, e.g. collapsible tubes, tubes, cans, bottles. Furthermore for reflectors, metal signs, large bottles (up to 10 liter), hardware, heat exchanger, pressure vessels, for parts in air fractionation, for heat insulation, aerials, parabolic reflectors, tank and bulk-tank vehicles, body parts, for aircraft construction, tools, moldings and appliances in machine engineering.

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM,Matmatch.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
