Description

This cold and hot hardenable material reaches mechanical strength of 200 to 250 MPa with A5-elongation at break of approx. 10 %. In warm and/or cold-hardened condition is this alloy only limited formable, in the soft material condition however well. Weldability, corrosion resistance and anodisingability of this material are good. However this alloy is used more for rivet or bolt joints, because of the destabilization danger in the welding zone. Heat treatment for hardening: solution annealing: 525 to 540 °C, quenching on air or in water cold ageing: 5 to 8 d at ambient temperature hot ageing: 4 to 16 h at 155 to 190 °C Application: In the construction of vehicles for vehicle floors, stands, commercial motor vehicle superstructures of all kinds, trim. In the building industry for window, doors, window walls, shower cubicles, fences. In the building of rail-mounted vehicles for car boxes. In shipbuilding for sail masts, sail trees. In mechanical engineering (including building of forms) and for metal goods (e.g. building fittings, table-ware, flow pressed parts, reflectors).

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
