Description

From the type of alloy AlMgSi is the alloy AlMgSi1 that, which used longest. This cold and/or hot hardenable material reaches strength values of 200 to 315 MPa with A5-elongation at break of approx. 6 to 18 %. In hot and cold-hardened condition is this alloy only limited formable, in the soft material condition however well. Weldability, corrosion resistance and anodising of this material are good. Although this alloy achieves the highest mechanical strength of all alloys of this type, it is used with priority due to its good corrosion resistance. Furthermore it, although the weldability is good, is used more for screwing and/or rivet joints, because within the welding seam range there is the danger of destabilizations. Heat treatment for hardening: solution annealing: 525 to 540 °C, quenching on air or in water cold ageing: 5 to 8 d at ambient temperature hot ageing: 4 to 16 h at 155 to 190 °C Application: For bearing constructions (loadedstatically according to DIN 4113), in the apparatus and tank construction for heat exchangers, for compressed gas bottles, technical flow pressed parts, in the automobile engineering for tank and silo trucks, for dump truck hollows, buses, body parts, for safety-related parts, wheels and superstructures. In mechanical engineering for devices, tools (baseplates, head and stamp retaining plates as well as guide plates), machine tables, hydraulic/pneumatics, shaft couplings (forging), roller pipes, brake disks and brake drums (with squirted wear course), liaison vehicles (screws according to DIN 267 T18, rivets), in food industry (including commercial devices), in the building of rail-mounted vehicles for railroad car doors, stroke sun roofs, wheel-center disks, axle box case, car boxes, in shipbuilding for the trunk, for superstructures, sail masts, equipment for radar, in the mining industry, in the building industry for rolling shutter, roll gates, for camping furniture and for metal goods (building fittings, table-ware, reflectors etc.).
