Description

This special Tungsten Lanthanum Oxide (WL) was specifically developed for use in the stems (support rods) of high-pressure discharge lamps. A special production process is used to create a more fine-grained microstructure than is found in standard quality tungsten-lanthanum oxide. Thanks to this special microstructure, the breaking strength of the material is higher than that of standard quality WL and WVM even following exposure to high thermal loads.

WL-S is therefore the perfect material for support rods which have to maintain the anode and cathode in precisely the same position throughout the entire lifetime of a high-pressure discharge lamp.
