Description

1.8515 (31CrMo12) is a nitriding steel and used in automotive and mechanical engineering for components needing high surface wear resistance and will be nitrated after the processing. Example: gear wheels, drills, connecting rods or shafts.

Soft annealing: 650-700°C, Quenching: 870-930°C (Oil or Water), Tempering: 580-700°C, Nitriding: 480-570°C
