Description

The highly corrosion resistant austenitic material X1NiCrMoCu31-27-4, mat. number 1.4563, is comparable to X 1 NiCrMoCu 31 27 4 acc. to SEW 400 : 1991-02 (invalid, replaced by edition SEW 400 : 1997-02 where this trademark is not contained anymore). The rolled and forged steel is applicable acc. to VdTÜV-material specification 483 : 1996-06 for pressure vessels acc. to TRB 100 and AD-data sheet W 2 and W 10 from -196 to 550 °C., for steam boilers as per TRD 101, TRD 102 and TRD 107 up to 550 °C. as well as for pressure gas vessels acc. TRG 201 and TRG 203 from -196 to 550 °C. Further application in nuclear power engineering as far as nuclear regulations or object-related specifications permit use from -196 to 550 °C. The material is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion up to 400 °C. both in delivery and welded condition. It shows very good resistance to stress corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride containing media as well as good resistance to organic and inorganic acids. This material is cold and warm formable. It is within the examined dimensional range fusion weldable by metal arc welding with covered rod electrodes and TIG-welding. Preheating and heat treatment are for material reasosns not necessary. The intermediate temperature should not exceed 150 °C. for thicknesses to be welded of up to 30 mm and 100 °C. for higher thicknesses. Related or higher alloyed welding additions should be preferred with regard to the special corrosion properties of the material (e.g. welding additions acc. to VdTÜV-Wbl 1153).
