ASTM Grade 1018 is a medium low-carbon steel that has a high formability and strength. It excels in weldability and has a slightly better machinability than other lower carbon steels. This grade is associated with common ASTM steel standards: ASTM A108, ASTM A512, ASTM A568  etc.
