Description

The fully austenitic material G-X 120 Mn 13 possesses a defined low value of the relative magnetic permeability of 1.01 maximum (for castings with a wall thickness of up to 50 mm). It is applied for construction components which an interference or shielding of a magnetic field must not occur at. To a large extent, the austenitic manganese cast steel is applied as a wear-resistant material. Its toughness is quite good, its resistance to corrosion in water is bad, welding is possible. Because of the strong strain hardening, the metal-removing machinability poses difficulties.

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
