Description

The fully austenitic material G-X 2 CrNiMnMoNNb 21 16 5 3, with the material number 1.3964 according to SEW 395-87 (invalidly replaced by GX2CrNiMnMoNNb21-16-5-3, material number 1.3967 according to SEW 395-98), possesses a defined low value of the relative magnetic permeability of 1.01 maximum (for castings with a wall thickness of up to 50 mm). It is applied for construction components which an interference or shielding of a magnetic field must not occur at. In the process of cutting machining, attention has to be paid to the fact that, unlike chromium-nickel cast steel grades, manganese-alloyed grades have a tendency to a stronger strain hardening. (SEW: steel-iron material specification)

Related Standards

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
