Description

For the material G12MnMo7-4, which is suitable for great wall thicknesses, the desired properties can be adjusted to a large extent without taking the wall thickness into account because of the materials capability of precipitation hardening. The material possesses an outstandingly low carbon equivalent and, therefore, is still weldable without preheating and subsequent heat treatment with greater wall thicknesses, too. With its mechanical properties and its weldability, G12MnMo7-4 corresponds to the rolled or forged fine-grain structural steels StE 460c and StE 500 and, therefore, presents itself as a good choice for high-strength welded constructions. In addition to high values for the 0.2% proof strength, the material distinguishes itself by relatively high values of the notch impact energy at the same time. Applcation: is chiefly applied in the mechanical engineering and the vehicle manufacturing, furthermore in the plant engineering and crane construction, in the offshore-technology as well as in the underground mining at climatically determined temperatures.

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
