Description

The material G18CrMnMo5-5 is suitable for fusion welding and is considered to have a good weldability, since it has been successfully used with good results in cast - welded constructions, especially in combination with rolling mill and forged products made from quenchhardened high-strength fine-grain structural steels. In addition to high values for the 0.2% proof strength, the material distinguishes itself by relatively high values of the notch impact energy at the same time. Application: is chiefly applied in the mechanical engineering and the vehicle manufacturing, furthermore in the plant engineering and crane construction, in the offshore-technology as well as in the underground mining at climatically determined temperatures.

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
