Description

The material S355K2G1W with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance (by generation of an conversion coating) has a minimum yield strength of 355 N/mm². It is applicated for welded, screwed and riveted constructions, e.g. structural engineering, bridge building, tank construction, exhaust systems, vehicle construction, toolbuilding. The atmospheric load have to consider (SEW 087, Guideline 007 of the Deutscher Ausschuss für Stahlbau and paragraph 2.5 of TA-Luft 1986). The unhindered generation of the conversion coating have to be considered in the construction and building process. The grid rate have to considered in the dimensioning process. An conventional surface protection is recommend at polluted air and necessary at long-time water wetting, constant wetness or close to the sea. Unweathered areas with condensate generation have to be adequate ventilated. Before welding the coating have to be removed in a distance of 10 - 20 mm from the welding edge. With increasing thickness, strength and carbon equivalent the occurence of cold cracks in the welding zone is possible. The recommendation of the EURONORM Information No. 2 (EN 1011) have to considered. Application limit: An notch impact energy of 40 J at -20 deg. is guaranteed.

Equivalent Materials

This material data has been provided by WIAM.

"Typical" values were obtained via a literature search. "Predicted" values were imputed via artificial intelligence technology. While we have placed significant efforts in ensuring data accuracy, "typical" and "predicted" data should be considered indicative and verified by appropriate material testing. Please do contact us if additional information on the the predicted data method is required.
All metrics apply to room temperature unless otherwise stated. SI units used unless otherwise stated.
Equivalent standards are similar to one or more standards provided by the supplier. Some equivalent standards may be stricter whereas others may be outside the bounds of the original standard.
